Unified Tag Team Champions Edge & Chris Jericho def. World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk & Jeff Hardy (Non-title)
Later in the evening, the two reluctant Superstars joined forces to take on the new Unified Tag Team Champions Edge & Chris Jericho. Twice in the course of the match, Hardy tried to tag Punk in. But, both times the champion appeared to be in pain, clutching his eye rather than accepting Hardy’s invitation into the squared-circle. Perhaps as a result of this, when Punk was stretching out to tag Hardy into the match later on, his Night of Champions Charismatic No. 1 Contender suddenly and deliberately clutched his eye in “pain,” falling from the ring apron, leaving his partner to face the music alone. Punk came back to hit the GTS on Jericho, not realizing that Edge had tagged into the match to blast him with the spear. Hardy soon revealed his Extreme, wide eyes to the WWE Universe, showing that he had in fact dished out some eye-popping retribution onto the World Champion’s plate

Smackdown Spoilers for next Fridays episode [July 10th] are below: Segment: Chris Jericho is out to the ring first with the unified tag belts in tow. He talks about having a shot at breaking his own record and being a 10-time Intercontinental Champion. Main Event: Chris Jericho vs. Rey Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship This match was given plenty of tv time. Mysterio his the seated senton on Jericho outside the ring early on in the match. Both competitiors exchange blows and holds throughout the match. Tons of near falls and close calls on both sides made this a great match to watch. Towards the end, Mysterio hits the 619 on Jericho follwed up with the springboard into the seated senton and goes for the cover but is attacked by Edge causing the DQ and Mysterio to retain his IC gold. The 2 on 1 assault continues on Mysterio as Dolph Ziggler runs into the ring and also attacks Mysterio as Edge and Jericho make their way to the back.

Smackdowns Spoilers for this Fridays episode are below, highlight to view: * Chris Jericho & Edge cut a promo saying that they won’t have a problem defeating CM Punk & Jeff Hardy. * Edge & Chris Jericho b. CM Punk & Jeff Hardy - Punk continued to sell his eye "injury" throughout the match. Jeff finally forced him in the ring. Punk tried to tag Hardy back in, but he faked his own injury. Edge got the win via pinfall on Punk following a spear.

Ref Marty Elias was distracted by Primo, and Jericho used the codebreaker on Carlito followed by a spear by Edge and Edge pinned Carlito

Next out is his tag-team partner Edge. "Despite my vow to never appear on RAW again, I now find myself in front of all you hypocrites once again. But make no mistake about it, the only reason why I am still here..." Edge interrupts and says, "The only reason you are here is because I approached you last night. Alone, we weren't getting the job done. So we walked into Teddy Long's office and demanded to be in the unified tag-team championship match. Which means, we can appear on any show in the WWE, unfortuntely including this one. We take matters into our own hands. We don't sit back and let things happen.
